AND MANCHESTER UNITED WINS HER 19TH PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE

The inevitable just happened or is about to, the fear of every Kop fan worldwide is about to be confirmed, a task they felt no team could achieve, is just being rubbished by a team known as The Red Devils. In the early days of English football, they was only one force to reckon with and that force was Liverpool Football Club, a club almost unbeatable amassing several titles including an incredible 18 league titles, but with over 2 decades gone and changes occurring and the eventual renaming   of the English premier league into Barclays Premier League, Liverpool FC has not remained the same, in real sense they haven’t won any league title, and as always when a vacuum is created there must be something or someone waiting to fill it up. They team that filled up the space created was Manchester United Football Club, a club whose history can be traced back to Sir Matt Busby’s Babes, in them a true giant arose and a dominant one for that matter, its dominance spread across its area of concentration until it became a globally brand, attracting players from almost all continents of the world.

In recent years Kop fans have always carried a banner telling Manchester United FC to “come back when they get their 18th league title” in 2008/2009 premier league season that was accomplished, their fear was confirmed but Man Utd weren’t done yet, they knew they had to surpass the record to finally claim absolute dominance, and they way things are going now it seems our time is now.

Personally I’m a Manchester United Fan for over 7 or 8 years and still counting, I’m a fully registered online supported of Man Utd, I receive Pre-match and Post-match packs, I join in any online voting carried out on Manutd.com, I’m a member of MUST(Manchester United Supporters Trust), the group tagged with getting the Glazers out of the helms of affairs at United. So if I sound bias you understand why, but personally I try to be as neutral as possible.

With two games left to go, one can comfortably say that the title is heading Manchester United’s way, while our noisy neighbors’ can make the celebration double fold, if they beat Stoke City in the FA cup final.

Sunday(may 8 2011) was the day the title actually left Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford, the victory over Chelsea all but ended their title charge, the game was one in which they were totally outplayed by Sir Alex Ferguson’s guns, the table show United leading with 6 points and a goal difference of 39, 3 more than Chelsea’s, merely looking at the table they have a “Mathematical chance” of winning the league, but that only depends on if and only should Manchester United should lose both matches, which I don’t think so, a draw against Blackburn Rover clinches the title but I doubt if a draw is what we would like to use to win the title, it would be won in grand style. Then Man Utd can be crowned as England’s most successful team and Dimitar Berbatov winning the Golden shoe for scoring most goals in the 2010/2011 premier league season and Javier Hernandez the revelation of the season.

As a football supporter, follower and avid analyst, I’ll give my vivid views on why Manchester united should not have been celebrating their 19th league title, and also reasons why we should be the only team celebrating that feat.

We begin with the reason why they shouldn’t be.

EVERTON 2 MANCHESTER UNITED 2: if there was any match where I felt let down by Man Utd it should be this one, Dimitar and co had already put us 2-nil up, with just 3 minutes to go we imploded allowing them to score 2 goals in that space,  it was simply catastrophic.

MANCHESTER UNITED 2 WEST BROM 2: the only draw recorded in our league campaign this season, West Brom went a goal ahead, we equalized and even went ahead to control the game with 2 goal to 1, then a cross came in from the right hand side, and Edwin Van Der Sar, a reliable goalie made an error termed “school boy error” by SAF and gifted them a draw.

LIVERPOOL 3 MANCHESTER UNITED 1: probably the most embarrassing United game I’ve ever watched, we went there with high hopes, after all we had already beaten them twice this season, but we were in for it, we were hammered and history was made Dirk Kuyt became the first Liverpool player to score an hat-trick in a game against Man Utd.

BIRMIGHAM 1 MANCHESTER UNITED: playing one of the toughest sides in the league, team that had already beaten other big teams, at St Andrews the match began with both sides threatening but the game felt like it was going to be a draw, but a moment of magic from Dimitar, and we were a goal up, just before one could say happy, Lee Bowyer had scored a controversial goal, but it was counted.

WOLVES 2 MANCHESTER UNITED 1: they really showed how resilient they were, and won against a poor United team, but our fellow contenders couldn’t take the initiative so come mid May we would be celebrating.

This leads me to the reasons why Manchester United and not any other team should be celebrating.

ASTON VILLA 2 MANCHESTER UNITED 2: a match billed by many to be a walk over, it turned out otherwise, Ashley Young converted a spot-kick after being brought down by Rio Ferdinand, the Mar Albrighton missed a guilt edged chance but made up later, the score 2-nil, the Kiko Marcheda was brought on, with almost his first shot he scored a stunner, then in the dying minutes of the match, Captain Consistent Nemanja Vidic scored the equalizer, we could have gone on to win if not for time constraint.

BLACKPOOL 2 MANCHESTER UNITED 3: the way the game played out it seemed a surprise to many football fans, at halftime they led 2-nil,even myself was dumbfound, but I knew they in for a hard time in the second half, and I was not disappointed , in the last 12 minutes the Magic of Manchester United was seen, Dimitar scored a brace with Chicharito scoring the other, the match was thus won, and it was only our 4th away win of the campaign.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1 BOLTON O: they clearly came with a game plan, to frustrate us into a draw, but that man Dimitar came on in the second half and spared our blushes.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1 EVERTON 0: if there was any match I could term unlucky it had to be this one, we tried everything we had it was like a goal would come out, then Little pea popped from nowhere to score a very important goal.

Also notable mentions have to be made, SAF, in Sir Alex you have a winner, the most successful manager in the world, tactical acumen and mind games, for the top goal scorer to sit out matches then you know what it takes to be SAF, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and Edwin Van Der Sar, in these men we have born champions, winners, men who never quit no matter how tough the going gets. Dimitar Berbatov, Javier Hernandez and Wanye Rooney all contributed in us winning the league with incredible performances, Carrick, Vidic, Rio Ferdinand all prevented goal and reduced the number of goal conceded, and not to forget Jin Sun Park, Nani, Anderson and Antonio Valencia, the made opposition left and right backs look ordinary, mesmerizing them and making fun of them. In all to all Manchester United Players, Fans, Supporter and well wishers ya all made it possible.

This premier league season was one full of intrigues, surprises, awe-struckness, but no doubt it would go down as one of the best English Premier League ever(if not the greatest), Newcastle coming from 4 goal down to almost win a match after half time against Arsenal, Chelsea FC hammering Wigan and Blackpool 6- nil at the beginning of the season, Sunderland making fun of the Bridge and breaking it down in great fashion, the fire and re-hire of Roy Hodgson, King Kenny rescuing Liverpool from the doldrums of almost relegation into Europa League qualifiers, Gareth Bale winning the PFA Player of the year and our ever impressive Luis Nani missing from the list, Dimitar scoring 3 hat-tricks and a  5 goal haul.

Arsene Wenger admitting for the first time publicly, that he was the cause of Arsenal FC failures over the past 6 years, and promising a change, Blackpool joyous ride in their first stint in the premier league in over 3 decades, Wolves beating the big teams and Manchester United winning their 19th title come 14th May 2011 at Ewood Park.

To all Manchester United Fans let the celebration begin, pop out your champagne, with champions league tie with Barcelona FC on our mind., but for now let’s bask in our triumph, Kop Fans can join us or sulk, it’s their choice to make, Chelsea FC better luck next time, Arsenal FC Fans if there’s anything I envy about you guys, it’s your constant belief that we would do better next season, so continue hoping on hope as my Father told me. Who said we(MANCHESTER UNITED) cannot beat Barcelona FC at WEMBELY for revenge, and make our celebration two-fold, it is football and we are quite capable of beating anybody(SAF),I HOPE WE DO, but till then let’s continue the celebration.

VIVA MANCHESTER UNITED, GLORY, GLORY MAN UNITED, GLORY,GLORY MAN UNITED
