Dangerous Dogs - Pit-Bulls

Most people love dogs.  We all know that dogs are man’s best friend and it has been this way for as long as anyone can remember.  So many family homes have a four-legged family member, who they adore and who brings happiness and entertainment into their lives.  A dog can be great company for a person, a friend to go for walks with or to cuddle up on the couch with and to share many years of life together.

There are so many different breeds of dogs and the majority of them are gorgeous and kind creatures but there are certain breeds that seem to be more dangerous and cause more trouble than others.  Any dog has the potential of being dangerous.  We can never fully trust an animal, as nice as they may seem.  If they feel threatened or scared, they may attack or bite and there’s no way of being prepared for it.

Some of the breeds that have been known to be more dangerous than others are: Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Dobermans, but the specific breed I’m talking about, are Pit-bull.  Just recently a young girl lost her life from a vicious Pit-bull attack.  It was a shocking story and it’s one that we’ve all heard many times before.  How many people have to die before Pit-bull are banned from family homes?

Now, some people will say that they have a Pit-bull and it’s the friendliest dog anyone could ever meet and that may well be true but have you ever heard of a Labrador mauling someone to death?  I know I haven’t.

I’m not sure why anyone would want a breed of dog that is renowned to viciously attack and kill people.  It’s happened way too many times and I just don’t think it’s worth the risk of having the guilt of your dog killing somebody on your hands.  Any dog can snap, that’s a given, but when choosing a family pet, breed and temperament should be taken into consideration.

I agree! In India, pitbulls can only be owned by the police, I assume. However, people do work around rules, and get pitbulls home. My friend got seriously wounded several times each time her pitbull attacked her. She finally had to give it away..
