Dangerous Dogs - Pit-Bulls

Most people love dogs.  We all know that dogs are man’s best friend and it has been this way for as long as anyone can remember.  So many family homes have a four-legged family member, who they adore and who brings happiness and entertainment into their lives.  A dog can be great company for a person, a friend to go for walks with or to cuddle up on the couch with and to share many years of life together.

There are so many different breeds of dogs and the majority of them are gorgeous and kind creatures but there are certain breeds that seem to be more dangerous and cause more trouble than others.  Any dog has the potential of being dangerous.  We can never fully trust an animal, as nice as they may seem.  If they feel threatened or scared, they may attack or bite and there’s no way of being prepared for it.

Sunday Gluttony

I’m sitting in a fast-food chain in Box Hill North on this sunny, friendly Sunday as the last throes of Winter attempt to make themselves known by occasionally pushing a cloud across the sky; temporarily blocking the dominating sunshine.

It is only now, as I began writing this that I realise how very desperate things have gotten if I’ve found myself sitting in an establishment I despise, buying a $4.15 burnt coffee just so I can take advantage of their slow internet connection. I’m totally aware that my first world problems are apparent here – but it’s been a tough three weeks!

Give Up Your Seat

I entered the bus and it was full with school kids, it was really packed.  I had to stand in the bus, which is fine but when an old man came into the bus and no one had the decency to move, I was really annoyed.  The bus driver turned around and said “Someone needs to give this elderly man a seat.” If she had not have said anything, no one would have moved.  The old man would have been standing, holding on to a bar for support, which is ridiculous

McHealthy Meals Debunked

McDonald’s in the US has made the bold move to promote itself as a healthier restaurant for kids by tweaking its happy meal menu to include… an apple. So what are the chances this will get kids to eat more fruit and less cheeseburger? Probably as much as getting kids to come home from school with an uneaten pack or Oreos in their lunch box rather than a discarded mandarin.  In other words, McDonald’s has just signed itself up to start throwing out a lot of fruit.

Promises Broken. Waterpark Trips Cancelled. These things hurt, you know?

There are a lot of truly insensitive bastards out there in the world.

Some people take important things seriously in life, you know? Some people understand what's important, what matters – what REALLY matters – in life, and they act accordingly. They FEEL accordingly.

And what do others do? They just say, oh come on, it's no big deal. We'll go some other day.

Some other day.

Some other day.

The Art of the Complaint Letter

I don’t like bad customer service. That’s not so unusual. A lot of people, especially nowadays, can spend at least two to three minutes a day complaining about a negative experience they’ve had with a Customer Service Operator; be it at their local supermarket, on the phone or at a restaurant.

But I really don’t like bad customer service. I could spend all day and all night talking about the various people that wrong me throughout the day when they’re representing the companies they work for.

To Celebrity, with Love

One of the world’s heavyweights has passed away this week: the wrestler Randy “Macho Man” Savage.

It appears that the Macho Man died in a car crash near Tampa Bay, Florida. There is speculation that he suffered a heart attack first, which may have caused the crash. Did a lifetime of steroid abuse induce this heart attack, echoing the murder-suicide of Chris Benoit in 2007? That’s for the doctors to figure out, not some lowly, opinionated blogger.

"Pretty"

The social culture suggests that if you are not "pretty" then you will not be accepted. And for this young lady, she would rather find solace in her weight as a reason for why she is rejected than lose the weight and still be rejected. What a dismal thought and a troublesome rationale.
